Nanette D. Barragán, a U.S. Congress representative for California's 44th district, has recently shared her viewpoints on a series of political matters through her social media posts. Barragán, who has represented her district since 2017, utilized the platform to address issues concerning healthcare administration and economic policies.

In an April 9, 2025 post, Barragán highlighted actions taken by the House Committee on Energy and Commerce Democrats. She reported on social media that "HHS Sec. RFK Jr. has refused our demand to a meeting with E&C Democrats. We have questions about his harmful actions to gut HHS and want to know his plan." As a response to the absence of a meeting, Barragán stated that committee members went directly to the Department of Health and Human Services to request a meeting and ask for testimony before Congress.

On April 10, 2025, Barragán issued a critical analysis of Donald Trump's economic strategies, claiming that "Donald Trump's Art of the Deal: tank the economy to help his billionaire insiders hit it big while he screws hardworking Americans by leaving them with the bill." She alleged potential stock market manipulation by Trump to the advantage of his and his billionaire peers' interests, questioning the economic repercussions on the average American.

Later on the same date, Barragán addressed policy decisions by the House Republicans concerning tax breaks and budget adjustments. She pointed out that "House Republicans just traded away Medicare and food stamps for hardworking Americans for huge tax breaks for Elon Musk and their billionaire donors." She expressed concern that the budget passage would impact essential services by significantly reducing their funding.

Barragán's background includes a history of representing California's 44th district since 2017 after succeeding Janice Hahn. She was born in Los Angeles in 1976, completed her undergraduate studies at UCLA in 2000, and later obtained a law degree from USC in 2005.
