Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California's 42nd district, recently posted comments on social media highlighting his concerns regarding current economic policies and housing issues. Garcia, who has served in Congress since succeeding Ken Calvert in 2023, is known for being vocal on various matters affecting his constituents and the wider American public.

On April 7, 2025, Garcia criticized former President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, claiming that "Donald Trump and Elon Musk recklessly imposed the largest tariff tax hike in American history. MAGAnomics is now crashing the stock market and draining retirement accounts. Republicans in Congress need to join us to end this insanity now."

In a subsequent post on April 8, 2025, Garcia reiterated his stance against MAGA policies, stating that they are detrimental to the financial well-being of Americans. He remarked that "MAGA-NOMICS is increasing taxes and wiping out retirement accounts, yet Marjorie Taylor Greene and the DOGE committee are focused on the costs of furniture and office space. Totally ridiculous."

Later that day, Garcia shared his involvement in efforts to address the ongoing housing crisis by co-chairing the Congressional YIMBY Caucus and organizing a roundtable discussion. He emphasized the need for increased housing production and access, stating, "Proud to co-chair the Congressional YIMBY Caucus and host our first roundtable today. Housing is in a crisis and we need more production, lower rents, and access for first-time homeownership. We can cut the red tape, incentivize, and build housing across the country."
