Nanette D. Barragán, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 44th district since 2017, has recently expressed her views on various political issues through social media. Her posts have drawn attention to actions and policies by prominent figures and institutions in American politics.

On February 19, 2025, Barragán criticized the Republican budget plan, describing it as a betrayal to the American people. She asserted that "Trump and House Republicans want to cut Medicaid." She further accused Republicans of failing to fulfill their promise of lowering costs, instead alleging they are "ripping health care away from kids, parents, and seniors—all to reward people like Elon Musk."

On February 20, 2025, she condemned former President Donald Trump and his associates for their actions regarding legal representation for children. Barragán stated that "Trump and his morally reprehensible band of thieves, bullies, and liars have no bottom to their ugliness and depravity." She specifically criticized the removal of legal representation from children who have fled violence in their home countries.

Later on February 20, 2025, Barragán addressed Trump's firing of National Labor Relations Board Member Gwynne Wilcox. She described this action as illegal and said it resulted in shutting down an agency crucial for protecting workers' rights. In her words: "Workers deserve better." She emphasized that both House Democrats and Senate Democrats will not tolerate such actions and are demanding immediate corrective measures.
