Nanette D. Barragán, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 44th district, shared her thoughts on several pressing issues through a series of tweets. Her posts cover topics from the anniversary of the Parkland shooting to criticisms of the Trump administration's policies and actions.

On February 14, 2025, Barragán reflected on the tragic events that occurred seven years ago at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. She wrote: "Seven years ago, 17 lives were lost and 17 injured in a senseless mass shooting in Parkland, FL. I toured Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School with @RepMoskowitz a couple of years ago. I will carry those images with me for the rest of my life." Barragán emphasized the importance of remembering those who lost their lives.

The following day, February 15, 2025, she criticized plans by the Trump administration regarding staffing changes at HUD: "Trump admin plans to cut up to 50% of HUD’s workforce. This would gut affordable housing, fair housing enforcement, & disaster recovery programs." She warned that such cuts could have devastating effects on low-income and middle-class Americans.

Later that same day, Barragán addressed what she described as incompetence within the administration: "The incompetence & hypocrisy of this train-wreck of an administration would be laughable if its actions weren’t so dangerous & undemocratic." She expressed concern over international embarrassments and domestic actions affecting free speech.
