Nanette D. Barragán, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 44th district, recently expressed her concerns and advocacy through a series of tweets. Barragán, who has been serving since 2017 after succeeding Janice Hahn, is known for her active engagement on social media to communicate with her constituents.

On February 4, 2025, Barragán criticized former President Donald Trump and Republican members of Congress in a tweet. She stated: "Donald Trump & Republicans in Congress are stealing from you to reward their billionaire donors... Elon Musk has been given access to your personal information. They want you to pay more for gas & groceries with reckless tariffs. They want to end Medicaid as we know it—just to..."

Later that day, Barragán tweeted about her plans to visit the Treasury Department, seeking accountability regarding alleged unauthorized access by Elon Musk to private information of American citizens. She declared: "I’m on my way to the Treasury Department to demand answers. Billionaire-in-Chief Elon Musk has been given illegal access to Americans’ private info, including Social Security numbers." She encouraged followers to stay updated via Instagram.

On February 5, 2025, Barragán took a moment on World Cancer Day to acknowledge the impact of cancer globally. She tweeted: "Cancer affects millions around the world. Today, we honor those we've lost, support those still fighting, and stand with the researchers and doctors working toward a cure." Her message emphasized unity in striving towards a future without cancer.
