Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California’s 42nd district, has recently made a series of statements on social media addressing his concerns about actions taken by Elon Musk and others. His comments reflect his commitment to supporting public education and protecting federal benefits.

On February 9, 2025, Garcia expressed solidarity with local teachers in response to Elon Musk's alleged efforts to dismantle the Department of Education. He stated: "As an educator, I’m standing strong with our local teachers as Elon Musk tries to dismantle the Department of Education. No other agency does more for children with disabilities and we will not allow him to destroy public education. Not now, not ever."

Two days later, on February 11, Garcia addressed the political tensions involving Musk and DOGE (Dogecoin), urging for a strong response against what he perceives as attempts to undermine government operations. He remarked: "We're in a bar fight with Elon Musk and DOGE, and we have to bring every weapon available to us. This is not a moment to hold hands with Republicans. We've got to bring the fire every single time and call out Musk and DOGE for raiding the federal government."

Later that day, Garcia criticized Marjorie Taylor Greene and Elon Musk for allegedly planning to redirect benefits from working people through the DOGE Subcommittee. He emphasized his opposition by stating: "Marjorie Taylor Greene and Elon Musk will use the DOGE Subcommittee to redirect benefits from working people to their billionaire friends. Their war on waste is just an assault on your healthcare and Social Security. Tomorrow, at our first committee hearing, we fight back – HARD."
