Congressman Robert Garcia has recently raised significant concerns about activities undertaken by Homeland Security agents and the policies of former President Donald Trump affecting his district. Via a series of tweets, he expressed his frustration over two recent incidents involving Homeland Security and college students.

On April 11, 2025, Garcia tweeted his outrage over visits by Homeland Security agents to two Los Angeles elementary schools within the communities he represents. Garcia demanded answers from Secretary Noem and former President Trump regarding the nature of these visits.

Continuing on April 12, 2025, he posted about the agents showing up at these schools seeking six specific students under the false pretense that they had permission from the students' guardians. He lauded the principals who denied access to the agents, declaring such actions by the agents as "disgusting and shameful."

Later, on April 12, 2025, Garcia stated that former President Trump was deporting college students holding legal student visas. He highlighted the turmoil these actions created within universities, emphasizing the lack of justification given to affected students. He reinforced the value of diversity in enriching the strength of the nation and universities.

Robert Garcia, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing California's 42nd District since 2023, has been voicing his concerns on these issues. Garcia was born in Lima, Peru in 1977, and resides in Long Beach, California. He holds a BA degree from California State University, Long Beach.
