Nanette D. Barragán, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing California's 44th district, has shared multiple tweets highlighting different facets of her advocacy and public announcements. Barragán, a Los Angeles native born in 1976, began her term in Congress in 2017 and is known for her active presence both in politics and on social media.

On April 18, 2025, Barragán tweeted “My mother is 84 and has Alzheimer’s. Without her Social Security checks, she would not be able to pay her bills.” In the same post, she conveyed the importance of sharing such personal stories on the @WTFshow2025 to highlight the necessity of Social Security amidst cuts proposed by former President Trump to Medicaid.

On the same day, she expressed gratitude in her tweet “This National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, I'd like to thank the dispatchers who serve as a lifeline in times of crisis." She especially acknowledged the efforts of the dispatchers who remained diligent during the recent wildfires that affected Los Angeles.

Two days later, on April 20, 2025, Barragán extended her wishes via a tweet stating “Wishing a very happy and blessed Easter to those who celebrate! #Easter2025”, as part of her personal engagement with her constituency during Easter.
