Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California's 42nd District since 2023, has used his platform to express critical views on the actions of former President Donald Trump. In a series of tweets, Garcia addresses concerns regarding immigration policies and constitutional adherence.

On April 16, 2025, Congressman Garcia stated, "Donald Trump is deporting people illegally, not lowering costs for families, and defying the Supreme Court. Democrats need to take on all these fights." This tweet highlights Garcia's call for action among Democrats in response to Trump's policies.

Garcia expanded on these issues on April 18, 2025, by emphasizing an individual case. He tweeted, "Donald Trump is defying a Supreme Court order and illegally deporting legal residents like Kilmar Abrego Garcia. This is a constitutional crisis and we need to treat it as an attack on our Democracy. It’s time for a Democratic delegation to head to El Salvador." Garcia frames the situation as a threat to constitutional integrity, advocating for a diplomatic response.

Later the same day, Garcia continued to express his support for legislative and diplomatic efforts. He remarked, "Senator Van Hollen’s efforts and public pressure are critical to ensure the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia. But Donald Trump is still defying the Supreme Court, and there are others in that prison who have had no due process. We must continue fighting." This indicates Garcia's push for continued advocacy and intervention to uphold judicial decisions and due process.

Robert Garcia, aged 45, was born in Lima, Peru, and has resided in Long Beach. He is an alumnus of California State University, Long Beach, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree.
