Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California's 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, has taken to social media to express his concerns about recent statements and actions by Elon Musk and Donald Trump. In a series of tweets, Garcia addressed issues ranging from the privatization of the postal service to the integrity of Social Security and Medicare.
On March 20, 2025, Congressman Garcia criticized Elon Musk and Donald Trump's intentions regarding the United States Postal Service (USPS). He stated, "Elon Musk and Donald Trump want to privatize the postal service. That’s crazy. USPS is not meant to make a profit – it’s a service people depend on. I just met up with some postal workers from home and heard them out. Fire Elon Musk."
Later that day, Garcia addressed claims made by Trump about Social Security and Medicare protection while highlighting Musk's views on Social Security. He tweeted, "Donald Trump lied when he said he would protect Social Security and Medicare. Elon Musk is calling Social Security a 'ponzi scheme.' It’s time to Fire Elon Musk."
In another tweet posted on March 20, 2025, Garcia expressed concern over what he described as a constitutional crisis involving Trump and Musk's actions towards Congress and the judiciary. He wrote, "Donald Trump and Elon Musk are ignoring Congress and attacking our courts. This is a constitutional crisis." He also thanked Democracy Docket for providing him with a platform to discuss these issues.
