Nanette D. Barragán, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 44th district, has been vocal about her opposition to proposed Medicaid cuts and other political developments via social media posts in March 2025. Her tweets reflect her position on various national issues, including healthcare policy and federal regulatory bodies.

On March 18, 2025, Barragán expressed her concerns regarding the potential impact of proposed Medicaid cuts by former President Donald Trump and the Republican Party. She stated that these cuts are designed to provide tax breaks for billionaire donors at the expense of hardworking American taxpayers. She further emphasized her commitment to fighting against these changes alongside her Democratic colleagues: "Donald Trump and Republicans are plotting the largest Medicaid cut in history, all to give tax breaks to their billionaire donors."

In a follow-up post dated March 20, 2025, Barragán reiterated her stance against the Medicaid cuts during an appearance on Rep. Hakeem Jeffries' show "WTFShow2025." She highlighted how these cuts would adversely affect millions of Americans and shared insights from recent conversations with constituents: "Our response to the Medicaid cuts Republicans want to make: WTF? What is wrong with you?"

Later on March 20, 2025, Barragán addressed another issue involving former President Trump—the firing of FTC officials Rebecca Kelly Slaughter and Alvaro Bedoya. She described this action as illegal and detrimental to consumer protection efforts by weakening the Federal Trade Commission's capacity to address scams and monopolistic practices: "Trump’s firing of @RKSlaughterFTC & @BedoyaFTC is ILLEGAL and a direct attack on consumers."
