On March 18, 2025, Congressman Garcia criticized Elon Musk and Donald Trump for allegedly attempting to dismantle essential programs. He stated: "Elon Musk and Donald Trump are trying to destroy programs that people have earned and worked their entire lives for. Millions of folks rely on Medicaid and Social Security to get by. It’s insanity. Fire Elon Musk."
The following day, March 19, 2025, he voiced alarm over the concentration of power in the hands of wealthy individuals regarding personal data access and federal oversight. He remarked: "When the richest man on the planet is given the ability to access people’s personal information, eliminate federal agencies, and force federal workers to report their activities to him – that is a five alarm fire."
