Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California's 42nd district, recently took to social media to express his views on various pressing issues. The congressman, who succeeded Ken Calvert in 2023 and holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach, addressed topics ranging from economic policy to aviation safety.
On January 29, 2025, Congressman Garcia shared his concerns regarding the influence of certain political figures on benefits for working-class individuals. He stated: "Let me be clear – we should not be giving the reins to benefits for working-class people over to Marjorie Taylor Greene and the richest man on the planet."
The following day, January 30, he commented on a tragic aviation incident near DCA Airport. In his post, he expressed condolences and emphasized the importance of maintaining aviation safety standards: "Our nation grieves the passengers and crew lost in the horrific crash near DCA Airport. @NTSB will investigate, and as a member of the Aviation Subcommittee, we will work to ensure that commercial aviation remains the safest form of travel."
Later that same day, Congressman Garcia responded strongly against attributing blame based on diversity in relation to the aforementioned plane crash. He remarked: "It’s monstrous to immediately blame diversity while bodies are still being recovered from the plane crash. Disgusting."
