Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California's 42nd District since 2023, has been vocal on various issues through his social media presence. In a series of tweets posted in November 2024, Garcia addresses concerns regarding federal programs and initiatives to tackle the housing crisis.

On November 21, 2024, Congressman Garcia expressed criticism towards House Republicans and former President Donald Trump. He stated that "While House Republicans try to end programs in our federal agencies which promote diversity and equality, Donald Trump is nominating completely unqualified and dangerous nominees to his Cabinet. And he wants to bypass security clearances. Completely unacceptable."

Later the same day, Garcia announced the launch of a new bipartisan initiative aimed at addressing housing challenges. He tweeted: "Proud to launch the bipartisan YIMBY Caucus today to tackle the housing crisis and lower costs. We need more housing, mixed-use zoning, and financial incentives to speed up construction. Let’s get this done!"

Continuing his focus on housing issues, on November 22, 2024, Garcia shared an update about the newly formed caucus: "Proud to announce the bipartisan group of YIMBY congressional co-chairs and members! Excited to work together for smart, affordable housing solutions and we expect more to join in the weeks ahead. Thank you!"
