Nanette D. Barragán highlights healthcare issues among Latino communities

Nanette D. Barragán, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 44th district, has recently shared several updates through her social media platform. Her posts highlight significant community and national issues, including healthcare accessibility for Latinos, environmental initiatives in California, and a tribute to Pearl Harbor victims.

On December 5, 2024, Barragán expressed gratitude upon receiving the Hispanic Leadership Award from The National Hispanic Health Foundation. She emphasized the challenges faced by Latinos concerning chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity, stating that "cost and/or stigma often prevent us from seeing a doctor." On December 6, 2024, she announced exciting news for California residents regarding e-bikes as an alternative transportation method in Los Angeles. Barragán highlighted that e-bikes offer a fast and affordable way to navigate the city while also contributing to reduced air pollution and traffic congestion. She encouraged residents to check their eligibility for discounts on new e-bikes: "Exiting news for California residents! In remembrance of historical events, on December 7, 2024, Barragán paid homage to those who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor by acknowledging their service and sacrifice: "Today, we honor the service & sacrifice of the 2,406 servicemembers & civilians who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor."
