Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California's 42nd district since 2023, has been vocal on various issues through his recent social media posts. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and residing in Long Beach, Garcia is an alumnus of California State University, Long Beach.

On December 11, 2024, Congressman Garcia expressed support for Representative Greg Casar's new role as chair of the US Progressives. He emphasized Casar's understanding of the need to challenge corporate billionaires. "Incredibly proud of @RepCasar who will now be leading us as the new chair of @USProgressives."

Later that day, Garcia criticized the defense budget for excessive spending at the expense of domestic needs such as education and healthcare. He highlighted the Pentagon's inability to pass an audit and called for a redirection of funds towards public welfare. "This year's defense budget continues out of control wasteful spending rather than investing in American schools and healthcare."

On December 12, 2024, Garcia announced a collaborative effort with Representatives Maxwell Frost and Dan Goldman to address firearm trafficking by law enforcement. They urged the ATF to close loopholes that facilitate illegal weapon sales linked to violent crime and cartels. "This week, I led a letter with @RepMaxwellFrost & @RepDanGoldman calling on the ATF to prevent law enforcement from trafficking firearms."
