Nanette D. Barragán, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 44th district, recently shared updates on social media regarding events and opportunities for her constituents. Barragán, who has been serving in Congress since 2017 after succeeding Janice Hahn, continues to engage with the community through various initiatives.

On November 22, 2024, Barragán announced her Annual Jobs Fair via Twitter. The event was scheduled to take place from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Salvation Army in Long Beach. She emphasized that attendees would have the opportunity to meet over fifty prospective employers from across California's 44th district. Additionally, there were plans for interview and resume workshops as part of the fair’s offerings. "My Annual Jobs Fair is TODAY from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Salvation Army in #LongBeach! You’ll be able to meet with over 50 prospective employers from all around #CA44. We'll also have interview and resume workshops."

Later that day, Barragán turned her attention towards educational matters by highlighting that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form for the academic year 2025-2026 was now open. She noted that more than 140,000 students had already submitted their applications and encouraged others to start theirs immediately using the provided link. "ATTN Students & Parents! The 2025-2026 @FAFSA form is now OPEN! Over 140,000 students have already submitted their FAFSA form for the 2025-2026 school year!"

In a subsequent tweet posted at nearly the same time but in Spanish, Barragán reiterated this message for Spanish-speaking constituents, ensuring inclusivity in her outreach efforts regarding FAFSA submissions for the upcoming school year."¡ATTN Estudiantes y Padres! ¡El formulario @FAFSA 2025-2026 ya está ABIERTO! ¡Más de 140,000 estudiantes ya han enviado su formulario FAFSA para el año escolar 2025-2026!"
