ORANGE COUNTY DELEGATION HONORS DR. MARSHALL ROWEN

______

HON. J. LUIS CORREA

of california

in the house of representatives

Thursday, July 28, 2022

Mr. CORREA. Madam Speaker, I rise on behalf of the Orange County delegation, which includes Representatives Alan Lowenthal, Katie Porter, Michelle Steel, Young Kim, Mike Levin, and Linda Sanchez, to honor the career and service of Dr. Marshall Rowen.

Dr. Rowen has recently reached the tremendous milestone of serving on the Children's Hospital of Orange County's (CHOC) Board of Directors for 50 years.

For over 60 years, Dr. Rowen has lived in and served Orange County's most vulnerable children. He was the first Pediatric Radiologist in Orange County, and he was Medical Director of Radiology at both St. Joseph and CHOC for many decades.

Dr. Rowen has also taught generations of doctors in Orange County. He was Clinical Professor of Radiology and Pediatrics at U.C. Irvine College of Medicine, served on the Executive Committee of the Faculty and was President of the Clinical Faculty Association. In addition to the Editorial Board of the Western Journal of Medicine, he published more than 35 Scientific articles, and lectured coast to coast on Imaging Center and Radiology Department Management.

He is greatly respected as the previous President of Orange County, Southern California, and California Radiological Societies as well as The Hawaiian Society of Nuclear Medicine and Pacific Coast Pediatric Radiology Association.

His compassion and contribution to our community are extraordinary, and we are proud to recognize Dr. Marshall Rowen's service to Orange County's children.
