On January 23, 2025, Congressman Garcia emphasized the importance of recognizing all individuals born in the United States as Americans. He stated, "If you were born in the United States, you are an American, period. As an immigrant, I know how much we helped build this country. We can't let Donald Trump steamroll us and we need to fight back."

Later that day, he addressed ongoing environmental concerns related to wildfires in Los Angeles County. In his tweet from January 23, 2025, he expressed gratitude towards state officials and first responders: "As we recover from these devastating fires, we are closely monitoring the new Hughes wildfire in LA County. I'm grateful to @CAgovernor and our brave first responders on the ground making progress to contain it. We'll keep fighting in Congress to get the resources we need."
