SoCal Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers in Burbank, California, promotes excellence in patient care and offers a Sinus Self-Assessment Quiz to determine how your sinus symptoms affect your quality of life.
While filling out the quiz, you can select symptoms you experience that could be related to sinusitis and receive a quality-of-life score. Some symptoms are associated with the sinuses, such as congestion and nasal drainage. Other symptoms refer to other issues such as inability to sleep.
"Our practice philosophy is to breathe better, feel better and live better, and quality of life and the patient experience are the cornerstones of our practice,” Dr. Matt Hershcovitch told the LA Harbor News. “Every patient who comes in, we evaluate them fully and thoroughly and see which areas and what can be done to help improve their quality of life.”
Hershcovitch sees patients who have a variety of problems that can be improved, even common issues they think they can “live with.”
“I can't even begin to tell you how many patients come in, who go to the urgent care on a biweekly or monthly basis for some antibiotics, because they have yet another (sinus) infection,” Hershcovitch said. “The cycle can end, and that's what we strive to do in our practice, as well as provide a superb level of care, as well as the quality and wonderful patient experience.”
Hershcovitch is a double board-certified physician who specializes in treating patients with ear, nose and throat (ENT) disorders, plus facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has a degree in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He studied medicine at the State University of New York (SUNY). He completed his residency in head and neck surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and trained with a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Stanford University.
