Nanette D. Barragán, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California's 44th district, has recently shared her views on several significant issues through a series of tweets. Barragán, who succeeded Janice Hahn in 2017, has been vocal about health care, broadband investments, and civil rights.

On March 7, 2025, Barragán highlighted the importance of the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicaid. She stated that these programs provide essential health care coverage for over 37 million children in the United States. Specifically mentioning her district, she said "This includes over half of all children in #CA44." Barragán also mentioned reintroducing the CHIPP Act to make CHIP permanent.

Later that day, Barragán criticized members of the Energy and Commerce Committee from the Republican Party for not supporting broadband investments in underserved communities through the BEAD program. She expressed her frustration by saying "Not a single Energy and Commerce Committee Republican voted to support broadband investments..." and accused them of hypocrisy for attempting to take credit for initiatives they opposed.

On March 8, 2025, Barragán commemorated #BloodySunday in Selma by remembering civil rights heroes like John Lewis who faced violence during their peaceful protests for voting rights. She remarked on current challenges by stating "60 years later, extremists are working to roll back those hard-won rights." Furthermore, she emphasized that House Democrats are actively fighting against these efforts.
