Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California's 42nd district since 2023, has been vocal on social media regarding his stance on government collaboration and housing policies. Through a series of tweets, he addresses his views on working with billionaires and federal departments, housing regulations, and essential services.

On December 5, 2024, Congressman Garcia expressed his firm position against collaborating with billionaires and what he describes as "fake federal departments" in efforts that could potentially dismantle governmental institutions. He stated: "You can put me down as a member of congress who has no intention of working with billionaires and fake federal departments to dismantle our government and our institutions. We need to fight now more than ever."

The following day, December 6, 2024, Garcia highlighted the efforts of the YIMBY Caucus in addressing housing shortages by advocating for reduced regulations and increased construction. He tweeted: "The YIMBY Caucus is fighting to reduce housing regulations, build more housing, and solve our shortage. More homes mean more jobs and stronger communities. Let’s get it done."

Later that same day, Garcia reiterated his opposition to initiatives led by former President Trump and associated billionaires aimed at cutting essential services. His tweet read: "Let’s not let Trump and his billionaire friends eliminate essential services and benefits. We should not be working with people that want to destroy our federal agencies. We must fight these efforts."
