Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, used his social media platform on September 1, 2025, to address issues related to labor rights, immigration enforcement, and ongoing investigations into high-profile criminal cases.
In a post marking Labor Day, Garcia stated: “Proud to celebrate working people and strong unions this Labor Day. It takes a strong middle class to build our country. Let’s always stand with workers.” (September 1, 2025).
Later that day, he commented on recent federal raids targeting undocumented workers: “Most of those being targeted in these federal raids are hard-working folks in our restaurants, car washes, and farms with no criminal record. Go after criminals, not these workers who help power our economy and are trying to support their families.” (September 1, 2025).
Addressing efforts by congressional oversight committees regarding the Jeffrey Epstein case, Garcia wrote: “This week, @OversightDems are meeting with many of the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. We will listen to their stories and continue our work to seek justice against anyone responsible for these horrific crimes.” (September 1, 2025).
Garcia has served as a member of Congress since replacing Ken Calvert in 2023. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently resides in Long Beach. Garcia is an alumnus of California State University, Long Beach.
