Nanette D. Barragán, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 44th district since 2017, posted several updates on her social media account in early October 2025, highlighting community engagement and her stance on health insurance costs.

On October 4, Barragán shared a brief update: “Fixed it.” (posted at 14:56 UTC). Later that day, she commented on a local employment initiative: “It was great to see so many job seekers at our annual jobs fair! Our jobs fairs match hundreds of job seekers with employers looking to fill critical, good jobs. Thank you to our partners and employers who made today possible.” (posted at 16:03 UTC).

On October 5, Barragán addressed health insurance affordability, writing: “It’s a YES or NO question— do you want to protect millions of Americans from being forced to pay 2 or 3 times more for health insurance … It’s not hard. @HouseDemocrats continue to say HELL YES.” (posted at 19:26 UTC).

Barragán has represented the Los Angeles-based district since replacing Janice Hahn in Congress in 2017. Born in Los Angeles in 1976, she continues to reside there. Her educational background includes a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and a JD from the University of Southern California.
