U.S. Congresswoman Nanette D. Barragán, who represents California’s 44th district, used her social media account on October 3, 2025, to promote local employment opportunities and advocate for health care access and clean energy initiatives.
In a post published at 15:14 UTC, Barragán announced the district’s annual job fair: “¡Nuestra feria anual de empleo es HOY! Acompáñenos y conéctese con los empleadores y escuche acerca de las oportunidades de empleo en #CA44. Escanee el código QR, visite https://t.co/JlSjk90KS8 o llame al 310-831-1799 para informarnos que asistirá.”
Later that day, at 17:58 UTC, she addressed health care access in a tweet following her participation in a rally with St. John’s Community Health: “Who deserves health care? EVERYONE! I joined @AsmMarkGonzalez, @HollyJMitchell, @sjhealthca CEO Jim Mangia, union members, health care advocates, and local leaders at a rally with St. John’s Community Health to defend Americans’ health care. Republicans need to show up to https://t.co/lsR19HJT7P”
At 20:20 UTC the same day, Barragán criticized former President Donald Trump’s energy policies and introduced her legislative response: “Instead of lowering prices, Trump is canceling 300+ clean energy projects – raising electricity costs and killing jobs. It’s a blatant partisan attempt to retaliate against Democrats, and we will not stand for it. My Stop the Trump Electricity Price Hikes Act restores these https://t.co/IXIEBajLcj”
Barragán has served as the U.S. Representative for California’s 44th District since replacing Janice Hahn in 2017. She was born in Los Angeles in 1976 and continues to reside there. Her educational background includes a BA from UCLA (2000) and a JD from the University of Southern California (2005).
