Nanette D. Barragán, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 44th district since 2017, has posted a series of statements on social media addressing energy innovation, electricity costs, and internet access for students and seniors.

On September 4, 2025, Barragán congratulated Eco Wave Power for its new project at the Port of Los Angeles. She wrote, “Congratulations to @EcoWavePower on the launch of America’s first ever on-shore wave energy project at the @PortofLA! Barragán has represented California’s 44th District since succeeding Janice Hahn in 2017. Born in Los Angeles in 1976 and currently residing there, she earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA in 2000 before obtaining a law degree from USC in 2005.
