Nanette D. Barragán, U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 44th district since 2017, has recently highlighted advancements in medical technology, aerospace innovation, and clean energy policy through a series of posts on her social media account.
On August 22, 2025, Barragán praised the progress made by Edwards Lifesciences in heart valve technologies. She wrote, “Edwards Lifesciences is advancing innovative heart valve technologies. It was incredible to see the dedication and hard work that goes into improving access to lifesaving screenings and technologies for people fighting cardiovascular diseases.”
The following day, August 23, 2025, Barragán expressed support for K2 Space Company located in her district. In her post she stated, “Proud to have @K2SpaceCo in my district. They are making space missions once thought impossible, possible. Their innovative next-generation satellites will have a global impact while also putting our community at the forefront of aerospace innovation and good-paying jobs.”
On August 25, 2025, Barragán addressed recent federal actions regarding clean energy projects. She commented on former President Trump’s stance on offshore wind development: “Trump’s latest move to block offshore wind is part of a nationwide assault on clean energy. By sabotaging energy projects that cut pollution & create jobs, his admin is driving up electricity costs for families while protecting polluters. Americans deserve better.”
Barragán has represented California’s 44th District since replacing Janice Hahn in 2017 and resides in Los Angeles where she was born in 1976. She holds degrees from UCLA and the University of Southern California.
