U.S. Representative Nanette D. Barragán, who has represented California’s 44th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent political developments and criticizing Republican actions related to tariffs, health care policy, and alleged corruption.
On November 15, 2025, Barragán shared a post alleging that former President Trump admitted responsibility for rising grocery prices due to his administration’s tariff policies. She wrote: ” BREAKING NEWS Trump admits he raised grocery prices on Americans with his tariffs.”
Two days later, on November 16, Barragán addressed her opposition to a Senate Republican bill regarding health care coverage. She stated: “The fight’s not over. I Voted NO earlier this week on a Senate Republican bill that failed to protect affordable health care for tens of millions of Americans.
Working families need Republicans to come to the table with Democrats to extend the tax credits that help lower the”.
On November 18, Barragán continued her criticism by commenting on what she described as improper use of taxpayer funds by Republican officials. In her post she wrote: “Republican corruption — plain and simple. Public servants should not take millions in taxpayer dollars to line their own pockets.
