Nanette D. Barragán, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 44th district since 2017, has recently commented on a range of issues via her social media account. Her posts cover topics including health care policy, law enforcement conduct, and community resources for immigrants.
On July 11, 2025, Barragán reported from Crescent Care health clinic in New Orleans where she attended a press conference hosted by Rep. Troy Carter with the House Democrats Steering & Policy Committee and Leader Rep. Jeffries. She stated that “the devastating cuts in Trump’s Big Ugly Law will rip health care away from millions of Americans— especially”.
On July 12, 2025, Barragán addressed concerns regarding the behavior of Homeland agents. She wrote that “Homeland agents making us less safe, carrying guns in our restaurants, assaulting women in the women’s bathroom, and assaulting local law enforcement. Shameful.”
On July 13, 2025, Barragán shared her participation at an immigration resource fair at Banning High School organized by LA Schools. She emphasized the importance of community awareness regarding interactions with ICE and said “So important for all of us to continue to come together and protect our communities.”
Nanette Barragán was born in Los Angeles in 1976 and currently resides there. She graduated from UCLA in 2000 with a BA and earned her JD from the University of Southern California in 2005.
