Nanette D. Barragán, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 44th district since 2017, posted a series of statements on her social media account on September 20, 2025. Her posts addressed allegations of corruption in the current administration, community engagement efforts in Los Angeles, and law enforcement practices.
In one post from September 20, Barragán wrote: “This Administration is corrupt to the core. They answer to money and not the American people. If true, Tom Homan needs to be fired and prosecuted. This man is terrorizing entire communities as he claims he’s going after criminals – looks like he should start at his own house.”
Later that day, she highlighted her involvement in a community initiative: “Joined the @DodgersFdn, @HACLA1938, and the #NickersonGarden community to unveil the new Dodgers Dreamfield — a space where over 1,200 kids can learn teamwork, resilience, and the joy of the game of baseball. I secured almost $1 million in federal funding to help make this a”
In another post on September 20, Barragán commented on law enforcement practices: “Law enforcement in California patrols our streets and works in our communities without a mask. It builds trust, makes us safer and and allows for accountability. Now, federal immigration agents will need to do the same. No more hiding behind a mask when you’re in our”
Barragán has represented California’s 44th District since replacing Janice Hahn in 2017. She was born in Los Angeles in 1976 and continues to reside there. Her educational background includes earning a BA from UCLA in 2000 and a JD from USC in 2005.
