Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on social media regarding recent Oversight Committee hearings with victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

On September 2, 2025, Garcia wrote, “Earlier today the Oversight Committee heard directly from the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. The stories were horrific and infuriating. In the days and weeks ahead we will be hearing more from these victims. We need to believe them.”

Later that day, he called for transparency in a brief message: “Release all the files NOW.”

In a post dated September 3, 2025, Garcia reiterated his support for the victims and expressed frustration over what he described as preferential treatment for Ghislaine Maxwell: “I’ve heard courageous stories from the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Their strength is inspiring.

It’s infuriating that Ghislaine Maxwell is being given preferential treatment by Trump and his Department of Justice. Release the full files NOW.”

Garcia has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Ken Calvert. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently resides in Long Beach. Garcia holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
