Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently voiced his support for actions aimed at countering alleged election rigging efforts and advocated for local economic support in a series of posts on social media.
On August 14, 2025, Garcia addressed concerns about electoral practices in Texas, stating, “If Texas is going to rig their elections for Donald Trump, California is going to fight back. I fully support @CAgovernor and his leadership. It’s go time.”
The following day, he called on other Democratic-led states to take similar measures regarding redistricting. On August 15, 2025, he wrote: “Democratic governors and states should follow California’s lead and act now to stop Donald Trump’s attempt to rig the election through gerrymandered maps. We need to push back with new maps immediately.”
In a separate post on August 16, 2025, Garcia shifted focus to local economic issues in Long Beach. He stated: “Long Beach’s small businesses are a major part of the local economy. It’s incredibly important that we support them as they navigate tariffs and inflation. Let’s support our small businesses!”
Garcia has served as the representative for California’s 42nd district since replacing Ken Calvert in 2023. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently resides in Long Beach. Garcia holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
