Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared updates on social media highlighting community engagement and national issues.

On September 20, 2025, Garcia posted about participating in a local event: “Joined hundreds of neighbors and friends on a nine mile walk through Long Beach and Signal Hill today on the 7th annual Ranchos Walk. This is such a great way for people to see the city, and connect with the history of the Ranchos’ role in the region’s development. Go Long Beach!”

The following day, he addressed concerns regarding former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta’s involvement with Jeffrey Epstein: “Alex Acosta, who was Trump’s former Labor Secretary, has no regrets for the sweetheart deal he gave Jeffrey Epstein. That deal enabled Epstein to abuse more women and girls. The cover-up is unraveling, release the files!” This statement reflects ongoing public scrutiny into how Epstein’s criminal activities were handled by officials during previous administrations.

Later that same day, Garcia affirmed his support for LGBTQ+ rights by stating: “We stand with our LGBTQ+ community. We won’t back down.”

Garcia has served as U.S. Representative for California’s 42nd District since 2023 after replacing Ken Calvert. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and now residing in Long Beach, Garcia graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a BA.
