Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing both cultural events at the Capitol and ongoing political investigations.
On April 30, Garcia announced an event for comic book enthusiasts: ” Today is the annual FREE COMIC BOOK DAY at the Capitol. Come by our Cannon 109 office from 9:30am to 11:30am for free comic books and rare finds from the Library of Congress. Celebrate the Popular Arts and National Free Comics Day together. “ (April 30, 2026).
Later that day, he commented on developments within his committee regarding Pam Bondi: “After avoiding us for weeks, it only took 45 minutes for Pam Bondi to schedule her hearing in front of our Committee, once we filed contempt charges. She’s going to face some tough questions. We’re fighting for survivors, and we’re not going to stop until we get justice.” (April 30, 2026).
On May 2, Garcia turned his attention to former President Donald Trump and his family with another post: “Trump and his family are making themselves richer off the backs of the American people as working class people struggle. We are investigating the grift and won’t stop until we get real accountability.” (May 2, 2026).
Garcia has served as a member of Congress since replacing Ken Calvert in California’s newly drawn 42nd district in 2023. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently residing in Long Beach at age 45, Garcia holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
