Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California’s 42nd district since 2023, has been vocal on social media about various pressing issues. His recent tweets cover topics ranging from political criticisms to natural disasters.
On July 4, 2025, Garcia commented on a statement made by Donald Trump at a rally. He tweeted that “Donald Trump just claimed at a rally that he hates Democrats. Who he really hates are seniors, veterans, low income folks, immigrants, students, and anyone who stands up for decency.” He further expressed concern over the potential loss of healthcare for 17 million Americans due to these policies.
Two days later, on July 6, Garcia criticized House Republicans in another tweet. He stated that “House Republicans have no plan to lower costs or expand healthcare.” Instead, he accused them of supporting what he termed as Trump’s corruption involving expensive assets and foreign real estate deals. He emphasized the need for an investigation into what he called “the most corrupt Administration in history.”
Later that day, Garcia addressed the severe flooding in Texas through another tweet. He described the situation as “heartbreaking,” acknowledging the tragic loss of life and expressing solidarity with affected families and first responders.
Robert Garcia was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and now resides in Long Beach. A graduate of California State University, Long Beach with a BA degree, Garcia succeeded Ken Calvert as U.S Congress member for California’s 42nd district.
