Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, has posted a series of statements on social media addressing recent actions by the Trump Administration and congressional leadership.
On October 4, 2025, Garcia alleged improper use of government resources for political purposes, stating, “The Trump Administration is using partisan language on government websites and in employee emails to advance its political agenda. These actions are in gross violation of the law, which is why @OversightDems are launching an investigation.”
Later that same day, Garcia addressed healthcare policy and budget proposals under former President Donald Trump: “Our focus has to be stopping Trump’s health care cuts and the rising health costs for working families. We shouldn’t give Trump’s budget proposal a single vote.”
On October 5, 2025, Garcia criticized House Speaker Mike Johnson regarding the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein: “It’s crystal clear: Speaker Johnson is doing everything he can to stop the swearing-in of Adelita Grijalva—the 218th and final signature we need to force a full release of the Epstein files. Stop the cover-up. Release the files!”
Garcia has served as U.S. Representative for California’s 42nd District since replacing Ken Calvert in 2023. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently resides in Long Beach. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach.
