Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of messages on social media addressing Election Day participation, electoral integrity, and the ongoing government shutdown.

On November 4, 2025, Garcia urged constituents to participate in the election process. “In America, your vote is your voice and your power. Make sure you use it this Election Day.”

Later that day, Garcia commented on claims regarding election legitimacy: “When an election doesn’t go Trump’s way, he claims it’s rigged. That’s just not true in California. I believe in our electoral process. And I thank all the poll workers, registrars, and voters who love our country and are working hard today.”

On November 5, 2025, Garcia addressed the status of federal operations: “We are now, officially, in the longest government shutdown in history. House Republicans need to end their vacation and get us back to work. Let’s lower health care costs and STOP giving tax breaks to billionaires.”

Garcia has represented California’s 42nd District since 2023 after succeeding Ken Calvert. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently resides in Long Beach. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach.
