Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of tweets addressing concerns over the Jeffrey Epstein case and criticizing actions taken by former President Donald Trump’s administration.

On September 23, 2025, Garcia wrote: “When Alex Acosta gave Jeffrey Epstein a sweetheart deal, it enabled Epstein to abuse more women and girls. Acosta then gets appointed Labor Secretary for Trump. Why? We demand the truth.” The tweet refers to former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta’s involvement in negotiating a plea deal for financier Jeffrey Epstein, which has been widely criticized.

Later that day, Garcia called for transparency regarding the case, stating: “It’s not a hoax, RELEASE THE FILES!” on September 23, 2025.

Continuing his criticism of Republican lawmakers’ alignment with Donald Trump, Garcia posted on September 24, 2025: “At the end of the day, most Republicans are going to do what Trump tells them to, but that’s not going to stop us from investigating this administration’s corruption. We’re ready to fight, and we welcome all Republicans with a conscience to join us.”

Garcia began serving in Congress in 2023 after replacing Ken Calvert as representative of California’s 42nd district. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently resides in Long Beach. Garcia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach.
