Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, recently posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing issues ranging from the safety of Venezuelan national Andry Hernández Romero to demands for transparency regarding the Epstein files.
On July 19, 2025, Garcia expressed concern over the treatment of Andry Hernández Romero, stating: “We are so grateful Andry Hernández Romero is alive. He’s back in Venezuela and we are working to make sure he’s safe. He never should have been sent to the CECOT prison and he still deserves due process. We won’t stop fighting for him.”
Three days later, on July 22, 2025, Garcia criticized Republican lawmakers and former President Donald Trump regarding the release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. In his post, he wrote: “Republicans don’t want to talk about the Epstein files, and Donald Trump is clearly hiding something. They are canceling votes because they are scared of the truth. Release the files!”
Later that same day, Garcia continued his criticism of Trump’s policies and actions concerning healthcare and transparency: “Trump’s taking away healthcare, not focused on lowering costs, and now reversing course and hiding the Epstein files. We need a full release now.”
Garcia has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after replacing Ken Calvert as representative for California’s 42nd district. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently residing in Long Beach at age 45, Garcia holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
