Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently made several statements on social media regarding ongoing investigations and human rights concerns.
On July 28, 2025, Garcia raised issues about a potential agreement involving former President Trump’s Department of Justice and Ghislaine Maxwell. He wrote, “We should all be concerned with any deal between Trump’s DOJ and Ghislaine Maxwell. That’s why the subpoena for the Epstein files must be sent immediately by Chairman Comer.”
Later that day, Garcia reported contact with Andry Hernández Romero concerning conditions at CECOT prison. He stated, “I just spoke with Andry Hernández Romero and offered our support and assistance. He was incredibly grateful to all who have advocated on his behalf and those who shared his story. He spoke of the horrific conditions in CECOT and the real trauma and violence he experienced.”
On July 29, 2025, Garcia addressed further actions related to the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s associates: “Oversight Dems have asked Chairman Comer to get the Epstein files from the DOJ within 30 days of the subpoena. And we agree, Ghislaine Maxwell will not get to dictate the terms of her testimony. Not on our watch.”
Garcia has represented California’s 42nd district since 2023 after succeeding Ken Calvert as its congressional representative. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977, Garcia is currently a resident of Long Beach and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach.
