Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing issues related to voting rights, health care costs, and an upcoming investigation into Secretary Noem.

On October 18, 2025, Garcia expressed concern over recent developments regarding the Voting Rights Act. He stated, “In another move to rig elections, the landmark Voting Rights Act is under attack. Section 2 of the VRA outlaws racial discrimination in voting and ensures residents have fair representation in Congress. SCOTUS must protect the VRA.”

The following day, October 19, 2025, Garcia commented on the ongoing government shutdown and health care costs, writing, “The American people have made clear that they don’t want their health care costs to go up. Republicans have refused to show up to work and negotiate. It’s time to reopen the government.”

On October 20, 2025, Garcia addressed an upcoming investigation into Secretary Noem’s actions, stating, “We look forward to investigating Secretary Noem and her actions to terrorize U.S. citizens and immigrants in LA and across the country.”

Garcia has served as the U.S. Representative for California’s 42nd district since 2023, succeeding Ken Calvert. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977, Garcia currently resides in Long Beach. He is an alumnus of California State University, Long Beach.
