Congressman Robert Garcia, representing California’s 42nd district, has used his social media platform to address actions by the Trump Administration regarding U.S. citizens and immigrants.

On October 20, 2025, Garcia posted, “We are working with @MayorofLA to investigate the Trump Administration for terrorizing U.S. citizens and immigrants. They seem to have forgotten that the Constitution protects ALL persons.”

Later that day, he expressed support for the judiciary, stating on October 20, 2025: “The lower courts in this country continue to be a key check on Trump’s abuse of power. I applaud those courageous judges for standing up for what’s right. We won’t back down.”

On October 21, 2025, Garcia highlighted concerns over detentions by federal authorities: “Over 170 U.S. citizens have been detained by ICE—many without due process. Kristi Noem needs to be held accountable.”

Robert Garcia has represented California’s 42nd district in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Ken Calvert. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently residing in Long Beach, Garcia holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
