Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account this week addressing issues ranging from government transparency to local community investments.
On May 8, Garcia questioned the actions of Chairman Comer regarding the handling of an interview with former Attorney General Pam Bondi. He wrote, “Why is Chairman Comer refusing to videotape Pam Bondi’s interview and release it to the public? This was the AG who was at the center of the White House Epstein cover-up. The American people deserve transparency.” (May 8, 2026).
Later that day, Garcia highlighted his visit to Signal Hill and engagement with students from Alvarado Elementary. He stated, “So great to meet our future leaders from Alvarado Elementary in Signal Hill, where I also toured their newly-renovated City Hall. Signal Hill has a great community, schools and families. Thank you to these great kids for the warm welcome.” (May 8, 2026).
On May 9, Garcia announced additional funding for parks in Cudahy and Bell Gardens. He posted, “Cudahy and Bell Gardens are getting more funds to help make their parks even better for families, teens and kids. I’m proud to deliver these resources to reinvest in our communities.” (May 9, 2026).
Garcia has served as a member of Congress since replacing Ken Calvert in 2023 and currently resides in Long Beach. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and now aged 45, he holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
