Congressman Robert Garcia, currently representing California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account detailing recent community and congressional activities.
On May 10, 2026, Garcia reflected on his visit to a local educational institution: “Got a chance to stop by St. Anthony High School, which was the first place I worked at right out of college! Thanks to the St. Anthony community for welcoming me back and for the opportunity to speak to some of their graduating seniors.”
The following day, May 11, 2026, Garcia highlighted congressional oversight efforts in Florida: “Oversight Dems are in Orlando today led by @RepMaxwellFrost as we meet with immigration and civil rights leaders on the ground. The harm happening by ICE and DHS across the country is horrific. We intend to hold those responsible accountable.” Later that day, he added: “Some of the worst ICE and DHS abuses that are happening in this country are happening in the state of Florida. I joined @RepMaxwellFrost and @OversightDems in Orlando to hear directly from folks on the ground. Their stories should outrage every single American.”
Garcia has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after replacing Ken Calvert. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently resides in Long Beach. Garcia graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a BA.
