Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district, recently posted a series of statements on social media addressing health care costs, immigration enforcement, and congressional proceedings.
On October 9, 2025, Garcia criticized former President Donald Trump’s record on health care, stating, “Donald Trump promised to lower costs. But instead, health care premiums are about to skyrocket and—in some cases—double. Stop giving tax breaks to billionaires and save the Affordable Care Act.”
Later that day, Garcia addressed immigration enforcement policies in another post. He wrote, “Trump is directing ICE to detain folks with no criminal record. And he’s using the National Guard and military to do it. It’s inhumane and cruel. We need to protect and stand up for these communities.”
On October 10, 2025, Garcia commented on a recent congressional development involving Adelita Grijalva’s election. He stated, “Over two weeks ago, Adelita Grijalva was elected to Congress, making her the 218th and final vote needed to release the Epstein files. Now, Speaker Johnson refuses to swear her in—I wonder why? Release the files, NOW.”
Garcia has served in the U.S. Congress since 2023 after replacing Ken Calvert as the representative for California’s 42nd district. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977, Garcia currently resides in Long Beach and holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
