Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to address health care policy and criticize former President Donald Trump’s approach to governance.

On October 3, 2025, Garcia wrote, “Trump has already restricted health care for LEGAL citizens. Now, Republicans are falsely claiming that Democrats want to give free health care to undocumented immigrants. Let’s get the facts straight: undocumented immigrants have never been eligible for the Affordable Care Act.”

Later that day, he posted a brief demand: “RELEASE THE FILES, NOW.” (October 3, 2025).

Continuing his critique on October 4, 2025, Garcia stated: “Donald Trump doesn’t do things by the book. Or the Constitution. Or the law. He wants to raise health care premiums, give tax breaks to billionaires, and gut our federal workforce. But unlike Republicans, Democrats are here and fighting back.”

Garcia has represented California’s 42nd District since 2023 after succeeding Ken Calvert. Born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and now residing in Long Beach at age 45, Garcia is an alumnus of California State University, Long Beach.
