Congressman Robert Garcia, who represents California’s 42nd district in the U.S. Congress, has used his social media platform to address ongoing investigations and conditions affecting detainees in Florida.
On May 13, Garcia posted about the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, stating: “Acting AG Todd Blanche wants to stop talking about Epstein, but that’s not going to happen. There is so much more to this investigation: 50 percent of the files haven’t been released. Pam Bondi needs to testify. Survivors deserve justice.”
The following day, on May 14, Garcia highlighted concerns regarding detentions at the Orange County Jail in Orlando: “I spoke to people detained at the Orange County Jail in Orlando, and I am horrified by their stories. One gentleman got picked up while driving for Uber. Despite having all the necessary paperwork, he was still arrested for no reason. We will continue to fight these abuses.”
On May 15, Garcia reaffirmed his commitment to supporting survivors involved in the Epstein case: “We will continue to uplift the survivors and tell their stories. Our hearing in Palm Beach was a reminder to the powerful men who abused women and girls that our investigation is just getting started.”
Garcia began serving as a member of Congress for California’s 42nd District in 2023 after replacing Ken Calvert. He was born in Lima, Peru in 1977 and currently resides in Long Beach. Garcia holds a BA from California State University, Long Beach.
