Marking World AIDS Day on December 1, 2025, Garcia highlighted concerns about funding reductions under Trump’s administration and called for renewed efforts in combating HIV/AIDS. In his post he said: “This World AIDS Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to the global fight against HIV/AIDS.
Especially amid Trump’s funding cuts to clinics, cities, and national programs, we must invest in prevention and expand access to treatment.
We can end HIV/AIDS once and for all.”
Later that same day, Garcia paid tribute to a local leader from Long Beach: “Mayor Bob Foster was a friend and mentor. He devoted his life to our country and the Long Beach community. https://t.co/FbT2cQzjOn”
